Much of the sustainability and success of netball clubs is heavily reliant on funding and grants. Various funding bodies provide many grants to local sporting clubs and associations to ensure participants and clubs are supported.
Funding and grants assist with uniforms, facility upgrades, develop skills, support athletes and purchase equipment.
The WorkSafe Club Safety Fund provides financial assistance to netball/football clubs to improve the safety of the club environment through occupational and safety initiatives.
Applications for the WorkSafe Club Safety Fund opened this week and netball/football clubs who are members of the WorkSafe Netball League are encouraged to apply for the program. Each application is eligible for up to $1,200 in funding.
Safety initiatives can include equipment such as first aid kits and drink containers, permanent or portable structures that provide shade, first aid courses and minor facility maintenance which presents an occupational health and safety hazard.
The Sporting Uniform Grants program recognises the significant expense sport uniforms can be for clubs and provides grants of up to $1000 to assist in purchasing sports uniforms. Applications for sporting uniform grants close next Thursday, March 1st 2012.
